Brief Bio: The biggest joy in Colin’s life is his three children (now in their late teens and early twenties).
Professionally, Colin has worked with children in public care all his life and is passionate about empowering foster parents, adoptive parents and those in the parenting role with the knowledge and skills to provide loving informed support for the children in their care.
Colin and psychologist Dr Seán Cameron developed ‘Emotional Warmth Parenting’ a practice model based on Authoritative Parenting Style combined with sensitive, Attachment-led relationships, which are Strengths-based, and trauma-informed, (to help understand challenging behaviour) while encouraging Self-management skills to ensure that young people take control of their lives.
As director of the Pillars of Parenting, he has presented at conferences, in Ireland, England many cities in Europe and in the USA. Services which he provides include:
• Management consultation: 
o Fostering Organisations
o Children’s Homes
o Schools (Practical application of trauma-informed care)
• Training:
o in person face-to-face,
o online using Teams or Zoom or
o Using our seven online training modules.
• Young People’s Assessments: (providing a baseline measure with follow on assessment for performance monitoring, management and inspections.)
