Brief Bio: Ariel Nathanson (MA, MPsych) is a Consultant Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist. He is a member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), the Bowlby Centre and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). He provides psychodynamic psychotherapy with individuals and groups, and organisational consultancy to therapeutic communities and other groups of frontline professionals.

He has specialised in working with young people who present as risky and harmful to others. The harm they present is usually in their sexual behaviour, violence and criminality. Other patients Ariel works with, both young and adult, present with other forms of problematic sexual behaviours, fantasies and addictions. Ariel’s work at the Portman Clinic in London (part of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) is focused on these issues.

Ariel provides long-term therapeutic consultation to groups and organisations, helping them develop a distinct therapeutic identity that suits their specific client group, community, culture and beliefs. He also provides consultation, supervision and teaching. This can be arranged to meet specific needs.  

Ariel has published, focusing on clinical forensic work and organisational consultation.
